Join us at Shag's for Bike Night to help us start LOTB's Safe Ride Home Fund. Enjoy music live music, buy some 50/50 Raffle Tickets and LOTB Merch. 67% of LOTB proceeds of this bike night will go to the Safe Ride Home Fund. 67% is chosen because per most recent published ALDOT data: 67% of fatal motorcycle accidents were fault of the rider. As riders this statistic or ANY fatality, no matter the fault, does not sit well with us.
So we are doing ALL we can to change that.
This fund will be created as an EMERGENCY alternative to pay for your cab ride home for when your senses aren't at peak performance. Inspired by the USMC Arrive Alive Card, this fund is being created to encourage riders to HAVE A PLAN B as part of responsible drinking. Have the hard conversations, be honest with yourself and friends, make the alternate plans to have a Safe Ride Home. Even if that means picking your bike up in the morning. When YOUR plans fall through, your community & LOTB has your back.
Safe Ride Home is monitored and will be dispersed by the Managers of participating locations. Shag's Rock & Sports is leading the way as the first and only location. This fund will be a separate fundraiser to our normal fundraising activities and will only be replenished by Safe Ride Home Fund specific fundraisers. Drink Responsibly. Ride Sober.
