Learn the essentials of biking safely in your community. For families and riders of all ages.
About this Event

This free workshop is for riders of all levels to learn and practice safe cycling skills together, with in-class and on-bike components.

Riders of all levels are welcome, from experienced commuters looking to learn the rules of the road to families seeking safe tips for navigating their communities, to teenagers to learn to ride safely to school.

This workshop includes in-class instruction, on bike skills lessons and a short group ride that will include some hills.

Participants will receive a free helmet, bike lock and lights!

What to Bring: Please bring a bike in good working order, sunscreen, water and snacks. Wear comfortable clothing, including closed toed shoes.

NOTE: This is not a learn to ride class. Participants will be expected to ride their bikes continuously for up to 30 minutes.

When: Sunday, August 30, 2026

Time: 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Location: Helms Design District, 8800 Venice Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90034. Meet under the Helms sign at the corner of Venice Blvd. and Helms Ave. The workshop will take place in the patio garden at the East end of the parking lot, near Hutchinson Ave.

Registration is free (there is an optional, suggested donation of $35)
