Safe at Home - A Fire Safety Event

A Safer Tomorrow Starts at Home.
Our community has recently experienced heartbreaking losses from deadly house fires. As neighbors, friends, and families, we have felt the impact of these tragedies, and we want to do something meaningful to help prevent future ones.
The Wyoming Area Kiwanis Club is partnering with the Wyoming Fire Department, West Pittston Fire Department, and West Wyoming Fire Departments to bring our community together for Safe at Home: Community Fire Safety Day.
Our mission is simple: Help every family know what to do if a fire starts in their home.
We invite you to join us for a free, hands-on event focused on fire prevention, emergency preparedness, and helping children and adults feel more confident about what to do in an emergency.
📅 Sunday, October 25, 2026
⏰ 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
📍 West Wyoming Hose Co. #1
926 Shoemaker Ave, West Wyoming, PA
🚒 What to expect:
• Explore fire trucks and meet your local firefighters
• Interactive smokehouse experience
• Fire extinguisher demonstrations
• Smoke and carbon monoxide alarm education
• Learn how to identify fire hazards in your home
• Create a family fire escape plan
• Fun, educational activities for kids
A house fire can happen without warning. Does your family know two ways out of every room? Do your children know where to meet outside? Would everyone recognize the sound of a smoke alarm and know what to do next?
These are conversations we hope every household will have before an emergency happens.
We can't change the tragedies our community has experienced, but we can come together to help protect our neighbors moving forward.
Bring your family. Ask questions. Meet the people who respond when our community needs them most. Most importantly, leave with information and a plan that could save a life.
❤️ Stronger families. Safer homes. A brighter Wyoming Valley.
Hosted by the Wyoming Area Kiwanis Club in partnership with our local fire departments.
