Safe and Sober New Year’s Retreat – “Let Me Bring Hope”

The New Year’s holiday is often filled with parties, parades, football, and fireworks. This year, consider something different: a quiet, reflective celebration of new beginnings at San Damiano Retreat.
Our Safe and Sober New Year’s Retreat, “Let Me Bring Hope,” offers a peaceful alternative — no alcohol, no chaos, just space to rest and renew. You might even make it to bed before midnight!
This year’s retreat title comes from the Prayer of St. Francis, because we could all use a little more hope right now. Together, we’ll explore four themes:
🕊️ The God of Hope – Part One
🕊️ Just for Today
🕊️ Embracing the New
🕊️ The God of Hope – Part Two
Throughout our time together, you’ll experience shared prayer, group reflection, quiet space, and good food. Presentations will center on 12-Step spirituality, woven with glimpses of Franciscan values and deep respect for your own faith tradition. We’ll offer one 12-Step meeting and a Catholic Mass, both open to all participants.
This retreat is purposely open to all faith traditions, and you do not have to be part of a 12-Step group to join us. Come treat yourself to a retreat — and welcome the new year with a peaceful heart.
📅 When: Wednesday, December 30, 2026 – Friday, January 1, 2027
