A powerful night of heavy music comes to The Rosebud on January 8. Sadness brings its emotional blackgaze sound, Life delivers emotive hardcore, and Dawn of Ouroboros adds their blackened progressive metal. Local emo alternative rock band fairweatherfriend rounds out the bill.

Once cloaked in mystery, multi-instrumentalist Damián Antón-Ojeda’s solo project has begun to blossom into something greater than the sum of its parts. Taking cues from emo, shoegaze & black metal wrapped in reverb & arpeggiating synths, Sadness crafts tender, melodic journeys that treat genre as terrain, open to traversal for anyone daring enough to forge the path.
