Valentine's Day is long gone, but the clouds still loom, the cold is still wet, and the days are still short... You know what that means!? Smarch Sadness!That's right! The weather is dreary and sad, and so are we! Join us Thursday March 5th as Sad Karaoke makes it's return to Bottlerocket!
Sing for free and donate to Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank so we can kick the March sads right in the ides. (someone brought actual dry goods last time!)
Signup at 7pm, singing starts at 7:30pm. Come get sad with us.
Da Rules:
1. The songs must be sad. What makes a sad song? You know. We all know. Minor-key tearjerkers mainly. All songs are at the discretion of the hosts. If it’s not sad enough, no dice.
2. No irony. You are here to sing sad songs and be in your feelings. If you are not in the mindset to perform Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can't Make You Love Me” and really MEAN IT, we do not want you at Sad Karaoke.
3. Sign up starts at 7pm. If you really want to belt out "Hopelessly Devoted to You," sign up just like regular karaoke. First come, first sing.
4. Check YouTube to see if your song has a karaoke version, and if so, which one you like. Did you know there's a karaoke version of The Mountain Goats' "This Year"? There is!
5. Please be considerate of other folks. A three minute song is perfect, four minutes is okay, five to six minutes is too much.
6. Singing HIGHLY encouraged. Don't just sit there. Get up and sing. Duets or singing backup count.
