Show up at 6:30 to ensure your performance spot, but also to watch our musical opening act.
Our Opening Act is Andrew Tallent. Andrew Tallent is a singer songwriter who moved to Denver at the end of 2018 in search of a music community that could help nurture and inspire his folk/Americana style of music. He also co-hosts the Kinda Vague Radio show on K4CO and Kinda Vague Radio Podcast on Spotify. Both shows focus on promoting independent musicians and artists from Colorado in the hopes of shining a light on what he considers one of the most overlooked music seen in America. He is currently working on his full length album with his band Circles We Draw.
Our Featured Poet is Mir i am Chernila. Mir i am Chernila is many things to many people , a-self married single mother, poet, singer, open mic host, massage therapist, movement instructor, and performing arts and nature enthusiast to name a few.
She is a graduate of Theater Arts from Metropolitan State College of Denver, she is a beloved local poet on the many open mic stages of Denver. Recently Mir i am substituted as Host creating the writing workshop: “HOW TO SING YOUR POEMS” at “The Writers Room,” Sacred Voices monthly workshop.
She has performed professionally as a lead and back up vocalist for a decade in local bands The Pamlico Sound, and Lost Dog Ensemble and is currently performing with Jon Romero’s eclectic ensemble. She is a veteran open mic host having hosted and curated open mics in Denver since 2001.
Mir i am is actively integrating her skills and turning her spoken poetry (or elements of poems) into song….She is in the process of writing editing and publishing her written works with hopes of also including a form of her spoken and sung poetry.
