Sacred Places 2026: A Night of Music, Storytelling, and Art

Join acclaimed Native musicians, actors, filmmakers, playwrights, and storytellers for an unforgettable evening of Indigenous music, storytelling, poetry, theater, and film during Santa Fe Indian Market.
Presented by Artists for Hickory Ground, Sacred Places 2026 brings together some of Indian Country’s most celebrated artists to honor the ongoing effort to protect Hickory Ground and other sacred places while celebrating the power of Indigenous art to preserve culture, honor ancestors, and inspire action.
The evening features legendary Native musician Keith Secola, acclaimed actor and musician Gary Farmer, hip-hop artist Frank Waln, and a special musical performance by former U.S. Poet Laureate Joy Harjo (Muscogee Nation).
The program also includes a fireside conversation with Dark Winds star Zahn McClarnon and acclaimed filmmaker Chris Eyre, the premiere of an original theatrical vignette written exclusively for the evening by renowned Native playwright Mary Kathryn Nagle and produced by Native Voices, along with additional performances and appearances by Native artists from across Indian Country.
More than a concert, Sacred Places 2026 is a celebration of the role artists play in protecting sacred places, preserving cultural memory, carrying stories forward, and inspiring future generations.
Set beneath the summer sky in the courtyard of the Museum of Indian Arts & Culture, Sacred Places 2026 promises to be one of the signature cultural events of Santa Fe Indian Market weekend.
