About this Event

Walk through Elmwood Cemetery on Saturday, November 7th, and discover the stories of extraordinary Black Memphians whose lives left a lasting mark on our city.

For this special tour, Shelby County Mayor Lee Harris will be your guide, leading guests through the remarkable people and stories that shaped Black history in Memphis.

Along the way, you'll hear about political leaders, poets, educators, Civil Rights activists, community builders, and others whose achievements helped shape Memphis and its history.

This two-hour walking tour begins at 10:00 am and covers a significant portion of Elmwood’s historic grounds, so comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are strongly recommended.

Advance registration is required and may be made by clicking the link below or calling 901-774-3212. Tickets are $20 per guest, and all proceeds benefit the preservation and maintenance of historic Elmwood Cemetery.
