The 2024-25 Sacred Arts Series continues on Sunday, February 16, at 4:00 PM with an organ concert by Eugene Lavery. The centerpiece of the concert will be the Prélude et Fugue sur le nom d’Alain by French composer Maurice Duruflé (1902-1986). Composed in 1942, this work is a tribute to Duruflé’s friend and colleague Jehan Alain, who was tragically killed in 1940 during the Second World War. The organ console will be moved out into the center of the chancel allowing the audience to see what goes in to playing the musical machine that is the pipe organ.
Admission is free and nursery care will be available.
