Informed by his own design experience, Duncan G. Stroik, practicing architect, author, and professor of architecture at University of Notre Dame, explores sacred architecture’s unique ability to inspire artistic disciplines, the importance of creative restoration, and America’s role in reviving traditional arts.Stroik’s award-winning architectural designs includes Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity Chapel in Santa Paula, California, the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and Christ Chapel at Michigan’s Hillsdale College, as well as renovation of University of Notre Dame’s historic Reliquary Chapel of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, among other projects. He is the founding editor of Sacred Architecture Journal and author of The Church Building as a Sacred Place: Beauty, Transcendence, and the Eternal.
