Biography
Saba Koohbor is an Iranian flutist and educator currently pursuing a Master of Music degree in Teaching at the Royal College of Music, London. She holds an MA in Music Performance Studies from the University of Sheffield and a Bachelor of Arts in Music. Passionate about both performance and teaching, Saba combines her academic background and artistic practice to foster meaningful musical experiences for audiences and students alike.
As a performer, Saba is committed to promoting cultural diversity through music by exploring and presenting repertoire from a wide range of traditions, cultures, and musical perspectives. She is particularly interested in introducing audiences to works by composers from diverse backgrounds, creating opportunities for underrepresented voices to be heard and celebrated. Through her performances, she seeks to encourage cultural dialogue and connection while highlighting the richness and variety of the global musical landscape.
Kaishun Ypsilantis is a collaborative pianist who works regularly with singers and instrumentalists. She graduated with distinction in Collaborative Piano (Master of Performance) from the Royal College of Music in 2025, studying with Simon Lepper, Roger Vignoles, Julian Jacobson, and Howard Williams.
Praised by her teachers for her instinctive musicianship, professionalism, and reliability, Kaishun has participated in opera productions including scenes from Imeneo and Fidelio at the Britten Theatre. She frequently supports young musicians in exams and competitions, nurturing the next generation of performers.
Kaishun is a registered external accompanist at the RCM and a member of the College’s Professional Engagement Service, collaborating with colleagues on concerts and events at distinguished venues. Passionate about community engagement, she volunteers in churches and libraries, performing lunchtime concerts to bring meaningful music to diverse audiences. Her contributions have been formally recognised with an award from the Lord Mayor of Westminster Councillor Paul Dimoldenberg in 2026.
