On Wednesday, 2/18, Sherrill Leverich and Anna Dale team up to provide a space of exploration for YOU as we honor the beginning of the Year of the Fire Horse. The Wood Snake has revealed what was old and desiccated, shedding what no longer is aligned with the fullness of our Being. In its place stands something fresh, possibly raw. Who is this new being, ready to step onto an unfamiliar path?
Come play in partnership with the energy of Fire Horse as you DANCE and explore somatically in this new terrain.

✨About Sanctuary and your Hosts:
Building upon a foundation of over 15 years curating music for and hosting Ecstatic Dance events in Portland, Anna is excited and honored to continue to bring forward an evening dance opportunity. Sherrill is a somatic practitioner, exploring the infinite play of duality through dance. A self-proclaimed rebellious mystic and closet pyromaniac, she’s excited to spark sanctioned fires of embodiment on the dance floor.
✨What is special about the Sanctuary Dance Floor?
Together we Cultivate a Dance Floor of care & respect as we bring our Wild, Grieving, Celebratory Selves to the space! Let's allow Curiosity & Wisdom and PLAY to guide our steps.
An invitation to weave beauty, strength, and healing into our lives through the practice and devotion of listening to the body, intuition, and dancing with what IS. We give Sanctuary to the underexpressed parts of ourselves and welcome in a space to FEEL and to MOVE and to BE with Life Force as She/He/They dances within us.
Through ebbs and flows and changing tides, we weave ourselves across TIME and Nature’s Cycles, Sanctuary gives us the room we need to attune to Creativity, the Living Now, and unfurl in our uniquely Resonant Expression ~ where what's inside is what can be expressed/danced outwardly. We are not stuck in our past habits and outdated identities if we take the time to dance them anew!
.. On this dance floor, you are invited to try on new shapes and patterns and discover fresh inspiration. Let's guard some time in the workaday rhythm for our SOULS to become more fully EMBODIED and for our Spirits to PLAY.
✨THE GENERAL FLOW ~ Doors open at 7pm, music is playing and there is time for arrival and warm-up. We gather in an opening circle at 7:30 and will go over some guidelines and the night's specific invitation will be shared... these can be somatic inquiry prompts, potential to participate in an interactive art installation/altar on certain nights, and more! We follow inspiration and the creative spirit 'round here.
The main music set begins right after Opening Circle, and lasts 70-80 minutes. Closing Circle is at 8:45ish ~ an opportunity to sit with each other after experiencing the dance journey and share from our experience in the dance.
