In this dance Special you will explore what it means to move together, and how moving with others can help you unfold, strengthen your senses, and express yourself creatively from that place.
This is not a contact improvisation class, but a dance class where you move together with others and allow yourself to be moved.
You have habitual ways and patterns of moving, both in your body and in life in general. Through various embodied exercises, you will be supported in opening up to new physical possibilities and approaches within yourself.
You will be guided to awaken and expand your different senses and hidden body parts, allowing the experience of your dance and presence to become richer and more alive.
From this deeper connection with your own body, you will be invited to meet others in movement through physical and energetic contact.
Many aspects of life can be reflected in this way of working. You will experience what it means to give and receive, to listen and to be heard. You will experience being supported in your movements and offering support to others.
You will also explore your own and others boundaries, and explore your courage to be seen and to express yourself from a more honest place.
Nikoline will hold a safe and supportive space throughout the workshop.
ABOUT THE TEACHER
Nikoline is a dancer, teacher, and holistic spiritual counsellor with a BA from the Institute of the Arts Barcelona. After years of working as a freelance contemporary dancer in Copenhagen, Nikoline developed a holistic practice supporting movers in connecting body, mind, and the part we often forget: the soul. She is currently studying to become a clairvoyant, with the intention of helping people activate a process of self-healing through dance, creativity, and expressing themselves more freely in life. Her practice is deeply rooted in creativity, stories, sound, symbolism, and aesthetics.
