Don Barbarino aka Godfather D – Representing Haiti, One Beat at a Time
Hailing from Montreal, Canada, Don Barbarino—aka Godfather D—lives and breathes music, while proudly showcasing his Haitian roots. His DJ journey began in the mid-'90s when he landed his first residency, Chillincypherizm , under the name Godfather D. Inspired by The Godfather movie, he later adopted the name Don Barbarino whenever he played house music. Three decades in, he’s been behind some of Montreal’s most iconic residencies, including Rebirth of Cool at W Hotel, SNS at Piano Rouge, Anbyansss at Ti Agrikol, and Oasis MTL at Salon Daomé, to name a few.
Don has taken his sound worldwide, spinning at clubs and festivals across the U.S., the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Mexico, and Jamaica. He’s shared the decks with legends like Tony Touch ( Funkbox ), Scratch Bastid, Ian Friday, DJ Maseo (De La Soul), DJ Spinna, Rich Medina, and many more. Keep an ear out for his music productions under Pronto Music , Open Bar Music , and Bush Doctor Recordings —because when Don Barbarino is on the beat, the vibe is undeniable.

Born and raised in Montreal but now repping Toronto for the past decade, I’ve been immersed in house music for over 20 years. From dancing with Jack-O-Lution —Canada’s first house dance crew—to learning from legends like Brian Green and Tony McGregor, house isn’t just music to me; it’s a way of life. Whether I’m driving, working out, or just vibing, house music is my heartbeat. Seeing Frankie Knuckles live at Stereo before he passed? Pure magic.
With 10+ years of experience as an event planner and promoter, I bring my passion for house music to life through unforgettable experiences. People call me a “curator of taste” because I obsess over every detail to make sure my guests feel the music, the energy, and the love. My mission?
