Live for one week as an 'in-house student' in a group of like-minded people far away from your daily work and issues. Enjoy intensive kobudo practice, prepare and share your meals with the others, help to clean and take care of the dojo. The week is open to all kobudoka in the Taira-Akamine-lineage with minimum six months of practice.
SENSEI:
THOMAS PODZELNY started Ryukyu Kobudo in the Taira-Akamine-lineage in 2007 with his first teacher Dell Hamby Sensei from Basel/Switzerland. Since then he attended many seminars in Europe and continues to travel to Okinawa/Japan every year to study directly in the headquater of the „Ryukyu Kobudo Shimbukan“ under Kaicho Hiroshi Akamine. In november 2017 he received his Shihan licence (master instructor) there, in september 2022 he was promoted to Renshi 6th Dan by Kaicho on a seminar he hosted in his hometown. His Ki-Shin-Tai Dojo at Erlangen/Germany is an official branch (shibu) of the organization. Thomas also practices Okinawan Uechi Ryu Karate-do (Kyoshi 7th Dan) as well as Aikido (6th Dan Shihan). He got sports trainer licence from the Bavarian State Sports Association and he is a graduate budo-pedagogue (use of Asian martial arts in an educational or therapeutic environment). Meanwhile he is teaching not only in his dojo but also on seminars in Germany and foreign countries. His own progress through constant practice is most important to him. He values martial arts as a 'path' (Do) of personal development beyond competitions.

The dojo is equipped with a small kitchen, showers, sauna (free to use) and a martial arts library (books and DVD, TV, DVD-Player). You can use the dojo weapons. It is possible to arrive one day before (saturday) and depart one day later (sunday) without extra costs.
FEE:
200,- € including all classes and accomodation in the dojo (with your sleeping bag on tatami), payable on the spot. Uchi deshi will have to go for shopping and prepare all their meals together (daily ‘toban’ money 6-8,- €).
