Skippering a yacht on coastal and offshore passages demands strong navigation, seamanship, and leadership skills. During the RYA Coastal Skipper course, your instructor will guide you through:
⚓Offshore and limited visibility navigation
⚓Weather forecasting and passage planning
⚓Watch-keeping routines
⚓Preparation for sea
⚓Heavy weather handling
You’ll put these skills into practice throughout the course as each student plans and executes passages while taking full command of the yacht.
Coastal Skippers must also be confident boat handlers, so there will be plenty of opportunities to practise mooring and close-quarters manoeuvres, along with night sailing.
Build real offshore experience.
