In celebration of Music in Our Schools Month, we are excited to announce the launch of the RVC Music Festival – an annual event dedicated to the power and diversity of music.Each March, the festival will focus on a different musical style or tradition, offering a chance to explore and celebrate various musical arts. This year, we are excited to showcase Musical Theatre, an art form that blends music, movement, and storytelling.
During the two-day event, participants will learn the basics of Musical Theatre performance. This includes combining singing, acting, and choreography, with a special focus on storytelling. Musical Theatre songs are written to move the plot forward or explore characters' emotions, so every note and movement is important. Participants will practice various vocal styles, diction, projection, and dynamic vocal techniques, learning to express emotion and tell a story through their performance.

The festival will conclude with a collaborative performance, where all attendees – students, faculty, and community members – will come together to perform. This final performance will showcase the skills learned throughout the event, emphasizing the power of storytelling and music.
