About this Event
The RVA Children’s Book Fair/Festival is scheduled for August 8, 2026, at Diversity Richmond, with a mission to promote public awareness of the importance of children's literature. Join us for a literary extravaganza, where the magic of storytelling comes alive in an immersive celebration of literature, creativity, and community.
What you can expect
Join us in a variety of activities and entertainment, author-led talks, reenactments, interactive demonstrations, and hands-on literary fun for young readers, designed to inspire and delight children and families of all ages and backgrounds. Children can enjoy reading and interactive activities hosted by authors, while teen and adult readers can hear writers and scholars discuss their craft and latest projects.
Whether you have a preschooler who loves picture books or a middle-grader ready for their next adventure, the RVA Children's Book Festival has something for everyone.
Additionally, we want to ensure vendors, participants, and attendees of all ages and interests remain engaged. Between 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm, the festival will host a petting zoo where children and adults can interact with several featured animals. Food vendors will also offer dining options throughout the day, and attendees can browse trade show exhibits with authors, publishers, local businesses, and literary organizations.
