Cellist Felix Wang and Violinist Carolyn Huebl are professors at the Blair School Music at Vanderbilt University and founding members of the Blakemore Piano Trio. For over twenty years, the trio toured the country and released several acclaimed recordings. Felix is also cellist of the Blair String Quartet. Active chamber musicians, appearing regularly at summer festivals and concert series. They will offer an eclectic afternoon of chamber music for Violin/Cello Duo, from around the world. The program will begin with a beautiful duo by J.S. Bach, travel to Russia for charming duos by Reinhold Glière, to Hungary for the fiery masterpiece Duo for Violin and Cello by Zoltán Kodály, based largely on folk tunes, and finally to Argentina for Tangos by the incomparable Astor Piazzolla.
