Build something meaningful with your own two hands. In this multi-day MakerClass, participants will create a handcrafted wooden American flag featuring the historic 1776 Betsy Ross design with carved stars and raised lettering.
Because of the size of the project and the number of techniques involved, this class is spread across multiple sessions so the work can be done properly. From preparing and assembling the boards to carving the design on the CNC router, each step requires time, patience, and craftsmanship.
During the class you will learn how to:
Prepare and assemble wood panels for large projects
Use the CNC router to carve stars and lettering
Sand and prepare carved surfaces for finishing
Apply stain and paint to achieve the classic red, white, and blue finish
Participants will leave with a large handcrafted wooden American flag they built themselves, along with new skills in CNC woodworking and finishing techniques.
This is a multi-day workshop due to the time required for glue-ups, carving, sanding, painting, and finishing. Each session builds on the previous one as the flag moves from raw lumber to a finished piece of patriotic wall art.
No prior CNC experience is required. All materials and instruction are provided.
Come build something that honors craftsmanship, history, and the maker spirit.
