Rustic Overtones:
Hailing from Portland, Maine, Rustic Overtones have been captivating audiences since their formation in the early 1990s. Their music is a genre-blending masterpiece, fusing rock, soul, and funk into a distinct sound that has garnered both critical acclaim and a devoted fan base. Fronted by Dave Gutter, the band's dynamic live performances and thought-provoking lyrics have been key to their enduring success. While their lineup has seen changes over the years, Rustic Overtones' influence on the alternative rock and funk scenes remains unmistakable, and their dedication to storytelling through song is a hallmark of their artistry.
Known for their signature horn section and socially conscious themes, Rustic Overtones have delivered memorable albums like "Rooms by the Hour" (1997) and "Viva Nueva!" (2001). After a mid-2000s hiatus, the band made a triumphant return in the late 2010s, solidifying their status as a compelling force in the indie and alternative music landscape. This enduring band's legacy is defined by their commitment to making music that resonates on both a musical and emotional level.
Muddy Ruckus:
Muddy Ruckus is a “darkly inventive” rock duo according to the New York Music Daily. Guitarist Ryan Flaherty and drummer Erika Stahl of Portland, Maine play a grungy style of railroad indie punk blues. This stripped-down power-duo blends rootsy guitar and edgy percussion on a suitcase drum kit, and is known for a full rock band sound. In the spring of 2023 the band released their 4th full length album, Vacationland, featuring tracks with legendary blues harmonicist James Montgomery and low-rock saxophonist Dana Colley of Morph*ne. The album is packed with 14 red hot tracks that blend psychedelic rock, punk blues and fiery lyrics into a sound that’s uniquely Muddy Ruckus. Presently the band is touring around New England and working on writing several new songs in anticipation of recording again in the near future
