Rust & Royalty is a bold, immersive fashion exhibition celebrating Baltimore’s creative identity through sustainable design, wearable art, and cultural storytelling. The exhibition brings together local designers, artists, and fashion entrepreneurs redefining what it means to create with purpose.
Blending runway presentation with a curated designer marketplace, Rust & Royalty highlights the beauty found at the intersection of grit and grandeur. The exhibition name reflects Baltimore’s industrial roots, its legacy in style and fashion, and enduring creative innovation. Our goal is centered in honoring artists who transform raw materials, reclaimed resources, and personal narratives into forward-thinking fashion.
Doors open at 1:00 PM, welcoming guests to explore designer installations and shop directly from Baltimore-based fashion brands and shop with the Made In Baltimore Store and the other Fabulous brands in the light street pavilion. The runway show, held from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, will feature original collections emphasizing sustainability, craftsmanship, and bold design aesthetics. The Designer Marketplace will remain open until 5:00 PM, offering attendees an opportunity to engage directly with designers and support the local creative economy.

Rust & Royalty is more than a fashion exhibition; it is a platform for sustainability, community engagement, and artistic visibility. About VashtiBlue Jewelry Studio
Founded in 2009, VashtiBlue Jewelry Studio is a Baltimore-based sustainable fashion brand specializing in handcrafted, one-of-a-kind jewelry, accessories, and wearable art. Known for hand-painted elements, custom fabric designs, hand-beaded work, and fashion-forward crochet accessories, VashtiBlue creates bold statement pieces for fashion-forward divas and divos.
The studio is dedicated to ethical sourcing, sustainable materials, and culturally inspired design, while offering custom commissions, pop-up retail experiences, fashion show presentations, and interactive creative workshops. VashtiBlue Jewelry Studio continues to serve as both a brand and a creative platform supporting local artists and designers.
About the Curator: Nate Couser
Nate Couser is a multidisciplinary visual artist, jewelry designer, curator, and creative entrepreneur based in Baltimore, Maryland. As Owner and Creative Director of VashtiBlue Jewelry Studio, Couser has spent over a decade building platforms for artists through fashion, media, workshops, and exhibitions.
With a deep commitment to community development and creative education, Couser curates experiences that blend art, culture, commerce, and storytelling. Rust & Royalty reflects his vision of fashion as both an artistic practice and a vehicle for economic empowerment within Black and independent creative communities.
