Rushmore Concert Artists at The Matthews — Night 2 (July 14)

Rushmore Music Festival's faculty artists and guest musicians return to The Matthews for Night 2 of the 2026 Rushmore Concert Artists Summer Chamber Music Series. Three intimate Tuesday-evening concerts pair world-class chamber music with the warm acoustics of our 120-year-old Spearfish stage — an experience you can't get anywhere else in the Black Hills.

Tuesday, July 14, 2026 · Doors at 6:30 PM · Concert at 7:00 PM. The full bar opens at doors, and a post-concert reception follows each performance — a chance to meet the artists, enjoy another drink, and stay in the room a little longer.

Tickets: $35 single. A 3-Show Series Pass is also available for $90 ($30 per show) on the Night 1 (June 30) listing — buy once, attend all three concerts. Seating is general admission.

The series is curated by Rushmore Music Festival's Artistic Director, Ismar Gomes, and features nationally and internationally recognized chamber musicians from the festival's summer roster.

Night 1 — Tuesday, June 30: Violin Sonata No. 4 in C minor, BWV 1017 — Johann Sebastian Bach (1685–1750), Cello Sonata in C minor, Op. 6 — Samuel Barber (1910–1981), Piano Trio No. 1 in C minor — Dmitri Shostakovich (1906–1975)

Night 2 — Tuesday, July 14: Sonata in A minor, D.821 'Arpeggione' — Franz Schubert (1797–1828), Café Music — Paul Schoenfield (1947–2024)

Night 3 — Tuesday, July 28: Voodoo Dolls — Jessie Montgomery (1981–), Piano Quintet in C minor — Ralph Vaughan Williams (1872–1958), Special performance by Emerging Artists Trio-in-Residence
