Rural Routes: Food Grows Here
Advertisement
Food doesn't only grow on farms. It grows in backyards, parking lots, office courtyards, and community plots — and this open house celebrates all of it.
Spend a Saturday morning visiting two locations just a few blocks apart. Start at our community garden, where plot holders have opened their gates to show what they've grown alongside our perennial plantings. Then make your way to our Gathered Local Foods Market to see a working grazing garden — food growing in what might otherwise be just a commercial building. Stop at the farmers market along the way and see how it all connects: garden to grower to table, right in the heart of town.
Both sites highlight perennial plants and food-focused design to show what's possible in any space, any scale. Vendors and live demonstrations at both locations throughout the morning.
Free & open to all · 10 am – 12 pm Community garden → farmers market → market grazing garden
