Rural Arts in Science Education (RAiSE ecology)

10 days in rural France attuning in nature. Tutored sessions guide you through a field ecology intensive. Sessions of deep-observation will immerse you within fields, forests wetlands and streams encountering species and habitats. The biodiversity component flows into permaculture design, which flows into sustainable habitat, architecture and renewable energy.

After returning home, you will embark upon the post-residential phase of RAiSE ecology, consisting of weekly tutorials to help guide you in your RAiSE project, the documentation of which will gain you the certificate in Applied Ecology.

The address of the farm where the RAiSE ecology residential takes place will be sent to you by email on enrollment. The farm is located to the NW of the city of Poitiers, SW of Paris in the Deux Sevres department.

Arrival is on Thursday 2nd July by local bus from Poitiers (details will be sent to you).

Accommodation consists of different options from camping in a tent to hammock to comfortable beds in a dormitory. Lunch (main meal) is included. Breakfast and supper are self-catering.

Mornings are practical, afternoons consist of workshops, evenings consist of a mixture of conversations and entertainment.

Departure day is Monday 13th July.
