Mae’r sesiwn dysgu proffesiynol hon wedi’i chynllunio i gefnogi athrawon Meithrin, arweinwyr a HLTAs i ddatblygu darpariaeth feithrin effeithiol o ansawdd uchel. Wedi’i selio ar ganllawiau Dysgu Sylfaen Llywodraeth Cymru, bydd y sesiwn yn canolbwyntio ar bwysigrwydd deall datblygiad plant, chwarae sgematig ac addysgeg effeithiol wrth greu profiadau dysgu ystyrlon.

Bydd y diwrnod yn archwilio agweddau allweddol ar ymarfer, gan gynnwys arsylwi, trosglwyddiadau, amserlenni, asesiadau ar fynediad, llythrennedd a rhifedd o fewn cwricwlwm chwarae seiliedig ar ddatblygiad.

• Archwilio rôl yr oedolyn galluogol wrth gefnogi dysgu
• Cryfhau defnydd o arsylwi i lywio cynllunio ac addysgu
• Myfyrio ar drefniadaeth effeithiol, gan gynnwys amserlenni a throsglwyddiadau
• Deall dulliau effeithiol ar gyfer asesu ar fynediad
• Archwilio dulliau ymarferol o ddatblygu llythrennedd a rhifedd mewn cyd-destun chwarae

Overview

This professional learning session is designed to support Nursery teachers, Foundation Larning leaders and HLTAs in developing effective, high-quality nursery provision. Rooted in Welsh Government Foundation Learning guidance, the session will focus on the importance of understanding child development, schematic play and effective pedagogy in shaping meaningful learning experiences.

The day will explore key aspects of practice including observation, transitions, timetabling, on-entry assessment, and the development of literacy and numeracy within a developmentally appropriate, play-based curriculum.

Target Audience

This session is aimed at Nursery teachers, Foundation Learning Leaders and HLTAs who are leading nursery provision.
Please note: This session is for City and County of Swansea school employees only.

Session aims

Participants will:

• Develop a deeper understanding of child development and schematic play
• Explore the role of the enabling adult in supporting learning
• Strengthen use of observation to inform planning and teaching
• Reflect on effective organisation, including timetabling and transitions
• Develop understanding of effective approaches to on-entry assessment
• Explore practical approaches to developing literacy and numeracy within play-based learning

The session will support participants to critically reflect on their current provision and identify next steps to improve the quality of learning experiences for all children.
