Animal Lifeline Pittsburgh is proud to be an official charity partner of the DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon through the Run For A Reason Charity Program!
Our goal for 2026 is to grow a team and raise $10,000 in our first year. By joining us, you will play a vital role in helping at-risk and homeless pets in our community, and beyond.
How You Can Get Involved
1. Register for the Event

Choose your race from the DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon Weekend of Events:
• Marathon
• Half Marathon
• Marathon Relay
• 4-Mile Fitness Challenge
• 5K
• Champions Mile
• Kids Marathon
• Toddler Trot
• Pet Walk
2. Fundraise for Animal Lifeline Pittsburgh
When registering, select “Yes” to become a charity runner and choose Animal Lifeline Pittsburgh from the charity dropdown menu. You will receive a personalized fundraising page that you can customize and share to start raising support.
How It Works:
After registering and selecting Animal Lifeline Pittsburgh, Race Roster will create your personal fundraising page. From there, you can edit your profile, share your page, and collect donations. If you reach your fundraising goal (outlined in the chart below), your race registration fee will be refunded!

The fundraising deadline for the Run For A Reason Charity Program is May 15, 2026.
3. Volunteer
Not a runner? No problem! You can still make a significant impact by volunteering with our team during marathon weekend. Volunteer opportunities will be shared soon. Volunteers will receive an official DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon volunteer T-shirt and a ticket to any Pittsburgh Pirates home game.
