EHOHx12 Challenge: Run Every Hour On the Hour
Back by popular demand!
Join us for a day of endurance, camaraderie, and nature at the EHOHx12 Challenge. Fundraising for McKaig Nature Center
What is it? Run every hour on the hour for 12 hours.
Why? Why not? Challenge yourself, connect with like-minded individuals, and experience the satisfaction of pushing your limits.
Where? McKaig Nature Center with a base in the Roberts School parking lot.
When? October 24th. The first run starts at 7:00 AM, and the last run is at 6:00 PM. Attend for all 12 hours or just 1 hour, all welcome.
Prizes? No, just the incredible feeling of accomplishment and the opportunity to spend a day with fellow enthusiasts.
Why? As a fundraiser for the McKaig Nature Center. Donors will pledge $ for each mile ran.
The Details:
Choose your distance: Half marathon, marathon, ultra, or any distance you desire.
We've mapped out 1, 1.5, 2, and 3-mile loops.
Run your chosen distance at the top of each hour, from 7 AM to 6 PM.
Complete one lap at double your chosen distance for a total distance challenge (e.g., run 1 mile for 12 hours, then run 2 miles for an extra lap).
Bring your own gear: Lawn chairs, food, hydration, and anything else you need.
McKaig Nature Center will provide access to a restroom and hand wash station.
Please consider donating a few dollars to support our mission.
In 2025 Runners Ran from McKaig to Chicago (and Beyond!)
Our 43 dedicated runners ran a phenomenal combined total of 724.17 miles! That incredible distance is roughly the equivalent of running from McKaig all the way to Chicago!
While about 20% of participants stayed for the entire 12-hour duration, we must give a special shout-out to one incredible 59-year-old runner who logged a phenomenal 50 miles, achieving a total elevation gain of about 7,000 vertical feet and taking 72,000 steps!
This massive effort was a crucial fundraiser, bringing in over $885 in donations to directly support McKaig’s trails and educational programs. Congratulations to all the runners!
