Brace for Impact 46, a local 501c3, was founded by former St Louis Cardinals pitcher Kyle McClellan (#46) and his wife, Bridget, after a life-changing mission trip to Haiti. The Race Director, Chris Schaefer, is an Ambassador for Brace for Impact and had his own first mission trip to Petionville, Haiti in 2014, so the organization is near and dear to his heart. Brace for Impact 46 has impact here locally in St Louis as well as abroad in Haiti:
• In ST LOUIS, Brace for Impact 46 partners with Tabernacle Community Development Corp to purchase and renovate homes in North St Louis area and employ local contractors to conduct the work. Brace for Impact then provides these safe, stable homes for families in need, and in turn they pay rent, attend quarterly seminars that focuses on the needs of their family, and volunteer in the community each month.
• In HAITI, Brace for Impact 46 aids the IDADEE Children’s Home and back the IDADEE School with over 500 students, providing daily meals. In addition to community outreach programs, they assist the CHIDA medical clinic, vocational school, and are constructing a transitional home for the children after high school to pursue further education or employment.
Your registration will help the organization provide healthcare, education, healthy meals, housing opportunities, local jobs, and more in Haiti and North St Louis. By fostering strong partnerships with local organizations, Brace for Impact 46 gains knowledge of the exact needs of the communities they serve and can create leaders that will use their influence to positively impact their communities.

BRIEF HISTORY OF CLIFF CAVE
Cliff Cave County Park is a 525-acre public park named after Cliff Cave, the natural cave located in the park dating back to 1749. It's been operated as a tavern for traders traveling the Mississippi during the 18th century, sold to the Cliff Cave Wine Company in 1868, and served as a recreation spot for volunteer soldiers from the nearby Jefferson Barracks in the late 1800s. St Louis County Parks purchased the property in 1969. In 2009, the cave was gated off to the public to protect the archeological artifacts inside as well as a population of Indiana Bats (endangered species) that have made the cave their home.
