Before the session, we will share a short ๐๐จ๐๐ฎ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ฒ with those interested, where we look deeper into the roots behind the music we play. Ital food and fresh drinks will be available at reasonable prices.

The idea to build their own sound originated in the record shop โGirafferecordsโ of Invisible Bram, original Giraffesound-selector in Leuven. With a history of the 'Open Tropen Festival' and Dj Sugar Charly in Turnhout, but mostly inspired by King Shiloh's underground bunker sessions in Amsterdam with โFamily Manโ (Ruben), โFrenkstarโ (Freek) decided to put things together and that's how it started. Lyrical Twins โMc Messenjahโ (Wally Nesta) & โSaimn-Iโ (Simon) also felt called, and in 2006 we did our first Giraffesound session on the soundsystem. Through the years, many good sessions were held and so many good memories were made! Today, the Giraffesound has undergone a complete transformation. The yellow bins from the early days (from the time in Belgium when only โIon Youthโ, โSoulremedyโ and โDubrisingโ had their own sound, focusing on Roots & Dub) went to โThe Dukes of Skazzardโ and were given a beautiful upgraded new life! Giraffe Sound became a 'VZW' to be able to keep money matters further away in order to focus more on the cultural and musical aspect again. Giraffe stands for a strict vinyl selection, a positive and militant message through the music, and a humble mission to touch people musically. โWhen music hits you feel no painโ (Bob Marley). The current sound crew consists of โThe Uptakerโ (Jef), โFamily Manโ (Ruben) and โOriginal Frenkstarโ (Freek), and together they are ready to celebrate 20 years of Giraffe Soundsystem.

A young collective that started collecting reggae and dub records around 2018 and has been playing on their own handcrafted soundsystem since 2021. Slowly but surely, with a conscious mind and a loving heart, they expand their experiences and connections in soundsystem culture and their musical journey.

Backyard Youths is a Bruges-based soundsystem consisting of Sunny, Steady, Pepi, and Vvl. With their great passion for roots reggae music and the culture around it, they built their first speaker box in the early 2020s, which has evolved over the years into a fully grown, hand-built sound system. Their main goal is to spread the culture like in the golden days of reggae music, in a way that everyone can enjoy. Backyard a go boom! You better be ready!

Little Man is a soundsystem founded in the north of Belgium, but currently based in Ghent. The first boxes were built in 2018, with little knowledge of soundsystem culture but big curiosity. Since then, the crew, collection, knowledge, and sound have grown, and now the time has come to organise something bigger!
