We can pretty much guarantee our first Rum-Infused Adult Scavenger Hunt will be wicked fun — and you’ll do good for the community at the same time.Join us 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, May 18 in the Key West Tropical Forest & Botanical Garden to raise funds that will provide bus transportation for Monroe County K-12 students for educational field trips to the Garden in 2024-2025. All proceeds from ticket sales and donations go to the transportation fund-raising campaign.
These field trips are invaluable to the education of our students. They foster community engagement, an awareness of the local ecosystem, wildlife and outdoor enjoyment for those who need it most. Students participate in hands-on experiments and lessons to develop skills and interests that can lead to careers that will keep them in the Keys. Many of our past students have gone on to careers in botanical, biological and environmental sciences here in the Keys.
The May 18 Adult Scavenger Hunt, which we’re calling “Rum Infused,” is a great way for adults to engage in a fun, outdoor experience and enjoy the beauty and natural wildlife of the Garden. We’ll create teams to follow the scavenger hunt rules and there will be points given for the most items identified within one hour.
The first 30 people to register and complete the hunt will be given a bottle of local rum. We’ll also have a silent auction and raffle. Don’t forget your pirate and mermaid costumes for the costume competition.
THE SCHEDULE:
6:00: Cocktails and scavenger hunt rules; teams are encouraged
6:30-7:30: Scavenger hunt through The Garden
7:30-8:30: Buffet dinner provided by Outback Steakhouse
8:30: Pirate and Mermaid Costume Contest and Scavenger Hunt Award
7:00-10:00 Music by John Bartus | A tribute to Jimmy Buffett and the Keys Life

Limited reservations are available for this fun, important and worthwhile evening. Please register early and spread the word to support our students and their education.
Tickets are $100 per person. Tickets include an open bar and dinner. All proceeds and other donations will go to the transportation fundraising.
