Rule Brittania! A Celebration of British Choral Music

The Salt Lake Choral Artists combined choirs and Orchestra join forces to celebrate 18th-20th century British composers' contributions to choral symphonic music. The sublime voices of the SLCA Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, and Vocal Artists unite in majestic fanfare to present music from the Royal Coronations by G. F. Handel, Edward Elgar, and C. Hubert H. Parry, with the program culminating in William Walton’s mesmerizing Belshazzar’s Feast, a piece that conjures pagan revelry, cataclysm, and rejoicing, with striking vividness. Drawn from Old Testament tale, Walton’s 1931 jazz-inspired score calls for an enormous orchestra and vocal ensemble leaning into the world-class artistry of the magnificent Salt Lake Choral Artists!
