About this event:
The Pawpaw Chapter is named after the Rugel's pawpaw. This endangered plant species is endemic to Volusia County - that means its world wide range is located entirely within Volusia County!
Join the citizen science project to survey for new populations and conduct counts of existing populations.
Depending on group size, we may split into two groups with one conducting surveys within Tiger Bay State Forest and one heading south to survey in Deep Creek Preserve.
Leaders: Danny Young, Paul Rebmann, Sonya Guidry
The surveys are conducted in natural areas. We will NOT be on trails. Wear appropriate clothing for the weather and closed-toe shoes and long pants. Bring water, sun block, insect repellent.
