Instructor: Chantelle Storkson
Chantelle has been a mixed textile artist for over 20 yrs, primarirly focused on free-form crochet and sewing. Various forms of rug making were taught to her as a young girl by her great-grandmother, on a 4th generations homestead where 'waste nothing' was a way of life.
Originally, rugs were created using worn out textiles from the home (linens, clothing, towels ect.). Over the years, Chantelle discovered that working multiple strands of acrylic yarns not only created much more vibrancy, but also allowed for the rugs to be extremely durable and stain resistant. Ever since, she has created 100's of rugs of all shapes, sizes, sizes and textures, shipping them around the world where they find their forever homes.
Come join us for Chantelle's first ever Rug Making Workshop in Edmonton and have some fun learning how to make the comfiest rug your feet will ever meet!
