EVENT
The 37th annual "ROUND THE COUNTY" (RTC) sailboat race will be held November 9th and 10th, 2024 in the gorgeous and challenging waters of San Juan County Washington. The race is approximately 76 miles with an overnight stop in Roche Harbor, San Juan Island. Due to the great venue, the better winds of November, and the overnight stop in Roche Harbor, the race has become one of the more popular in the Pacific Northwest.
FLEET
With over 128 boats registered in 2023, RTC is the second largest sailing event in the PNW (after Swiftsure). Most of the fleet will be racing PHRF-NW (Strum rates -77), but Strum will be racing ORC-A with the big boys. Strum raced RTC in 2007, 2014, 2015, 2022 & 2023, so we are in familiar waters. This will be Strum's last race of the 2024 season.

REGISTRATION 2023
RTC registration will open on Tuesday morning September 5th, 2023. To be able to register, your boat and its rating must be in our database of approved boats. All boats present on the PHRF-NW online roster as of Sept 4th, 2023 will be automatically added to the approved boats database. Prior to registering the ORC and PHRF-BC boats must send their 2023 cert file in a PDF file format to [email protected]. ORC pdf files are found by clicking on the "ref. #" link in the file you received from US Sailing. Save the pdf file by using "Ctrl+p" and then attach it to your email to RTC. Put "2023 CERT" and your boat name in the email title please. We will then send you an email to confirm that your registration is ready to start. PHRF-NW boats do not need to send in their cert file by email.
WAIVER OF LIABILITY 2023
Waiver of Liability form for skippers & all crew: Your boat needs to be entered in the race first before using this process unless you are looking for a boat to crew for. Waiver forms are needed from all skippers, co-skippers and every one of their crew. This is a requirement (NOR 3.6) to participate in this regatta. To have the waiver form instructions sent to you by email, please send a request email to [email protected] with "skipper" or "crew" in the subject line. All of a boat's crew must send a separate request using their own unique email account with the word "crew" in the subject line. ALL 10 STRUM CREW HAVE SUBMITTED WAIVER.

CHANGES FOR 2023
For the 2023 event there will be no PHRF DIV 0 fleet. DIV 0 boats will be moved to the ORC DIV 2 fleet. There will be two ORC fleets. If you were in DIV 0 in 2022 you will be required to have a US Sailing ORC Cert in order to register for this year's race. Please look at the NOR. STRUM RACING ORC DIVISION A
RTC 2022
GREAT SAILING!!! Good starts, great weather, cooperative currents and enough wind for 67 boats to finish the long course both days. Certainly better wind than the forecast suggested. Most were able to finish in sunshine. It was a super great weekend on the water! Thanks for coming and we hope to see you again in 2023.
