As we fast approach some hopefully better weather in the Spring. We’re desperately crossing everything imaginable! Wouldn’t it be good to keep us going through these last few weeks of damp, dark nights to have something to look forward too. Therefore, keep your eyes peeled for our monthly birding walks, with our very first starting at probably our most local reserve, RSPB Middleton Lakes.Middleton Lakes is beautiful and tranquil, as well as a mosaic of wetlands, meadows and woodland in the heart of the River Tame Valley. Several kilometres of trails lead visitors through rich habitats, alive with a variety of birds including Grey Herons, Avocets, Kingfishers and Lapwings. But it’s not just birds – the reserve is also home to Otters, butterflies, dragonflies and rare wetland plants.
If this is something you’re interested in, then please e-mail the group ([email protected]) to inform us of your interest. The plan for the day is to meet in the car park, then either, walk as a friendly inclusive group or do your own thing and meet later to discuss your wildlife sightings.
