The Christmas Parade of Lights is a time-honored annual tradition that has been presented for the past 36 years on December 6th, the first Saturday evening of December along Main Street in Cañon City's festively adorned Downtown Historic District. For 2025, we are very excited to announce a theme that should elicit some very unique, creative and memorable entries. Holly Jolly Christmas embodies the idea of evoking nostalgia and childlike wonder to bring people together around the magic of the holidays. This theme taps into the universal joy of Christmas, reminding us of the innocence and excitement we felt as children. Through its emphasis on toys, festive decor, and holiday traditions, it invites both young and old to reconnect with their inner child. In the spirit of the season, we have never charged fees to enter the parade and instead, rely on event sponsorships from businesses and individuals around the Royal Gorge region to defray the expenses of producing this holiday extravaganza. Every year, we are thrilled to witness the diverse range of entries. In addition to traditional businesses, we encourage our talented youth, educational, religious and other non-profit organizations to bring the holiday magic to the streets of Cañon City.There is NO fee for float entries however, Sponsorship is appreciated to help the Chamber cover the cost of producing this holiday extravaganza. We have designed a fun array of four sponsorship levels that most any business or organization can benefit from by showing the community your support.
WAYS TO PARTICIPATE
Parade Float Entry: Showcase your creativity and community spirit by participating in the parade with your own float. Design theme is Holly Jolly Christmas with three categories Education/Youth, Business, and Non-profit.
Sponsorship Opportunities: Support the event and gain visibility for your business or organization by sponsoring the event.
Business Decorating Contest: Join in the festivities by decorating your storefront windows with festive and creative designs to celebrate the season.
