Celebrating excellence and leadership among Britain’s young black community – nominations open until June 10.
LONDON, UK – 27 May 2025 – As Black History Month approaches, the ROYaL Global Awards of Excellence 2025 is now calling for nominations to honour the brilliance, resilience, and leadership of Black British youth and the adults who champion them. Hosted by Taking Positive Steps Foundation, a Black-led charity this national celebration is grounded in the belief that “every young person can be a leader in their community.”
Key categories include:
Positive Role Model (Youth or Adult)
Youth Entrepreneurship (10–17 / 18–24)
Inspiration Through Music
Services to Education
Mental Health Champion
Community Outreach
The Awards will highlight the exceptional contributions of young Black Britons across the UK — from classrooms to creative spaces, grassroots organisations to national platforms
Nominations close on 10th June 2025.

The event will be held on Saturday 18th October 2025, making it a timely and powerful moment of recognition during Black History Month — a chance to celebrate not only the emerging leaders of today, but the champions who have gone before them.
Dr. Claudine Duberry, founder and CEO of ROYaL, said:

The ROYaL Awards provide that space, featuring up lifting stories that are often overlooked and ensuring every young person knows: they are seen, they are worthy, and they are leaders.”
The Voice readers are invited to nominate young people and mentors who are breaking barriers in education, business, sport, the arts, and social impact. Whether it’s a school campaigner in London, a youth advocate in Birmingham, or a young entrepreneur in Manchester — this is your time to shine a light on Black brilliance.
