Rowing & Fitness Camp

The 2026 Gunston Summer Rowing & Fitness Camp, led by Coach Muhammad (Rushi) Rushd ud din will run from August 3rd through August 7th. The program offers a premier athletic experience on the scenic Corsica River for students ages 13–18. The camp provides a comprehensive curriculum that bridges the gap between high-performance indoor training and on-the-water technical mastery. Under the leadership of expert Coach Rushi, a former Pakistani National Team Rower and USRowing Level 2 Certified Coach, participants will receive instruction grounded in over 20 years of international competitive experience.
Designed for athletes of all experience levels, the camp features three specialized tracks:
- Beginner: A focus on rowing fundamentals, water safety, and basic technique.
- Experienced: Advanced skill refinement, race preparation, and performance goals.
- Fitness: General body conditioning and endurance using rowing as a full-body workout.
The camp offers flexible enrollment options to accommodate summer schedules, including half-day sessions (9 a.m. – 12 p.m.) for $200 and a full-day option (9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Friday) for $350. Visit http://gunston.org/rowingcamp to register.
The daily schedule includes land preparation, small-boat work, and technical instruction in the mornings. Full-day campers will also participate in afternoon sessions featuring strength and cross-training, video analysis, and mobility recovery. All participants must pass a Rowing Swim Test.
