The Crows started their journey when a guitarist from Kildare and a fiddle player from Cheltenham, via Donegal, met at a festival in 2007. The music flowed and they’ve not stopped since, with 4 albums under their belt and several national and international awards, this, now 4 piece, are an awe-inspiring force on stage – unstoppable and passionate.
This Irish group seamlessly marry humour, provocative lyrics , traditional Irish tunes and rock to entertain and bring the listener on a ride that they won’t want to get off! They make a hell of a noise for 4 people!
The band, now based in Herefordshire & Worcestershire, have wowed crowds at festivals and venues across the UK, Australia, France and the Netherlands! They are a MUST SEE live act; a mix of fiery fiddle playing and conscious lyrics alongside driving drums and bass.
Roving Crows are – Paul O’Neill (guitar and lead vocals); Caitlin Barrett (fiddle & vocals); Laurence Aldridge (drums & vocals) and Jim Smith (bass & vocals).
Their passion and energy on stage is infectious, never failing to deliver a great time with their vibrant live show! Their music pushes the boundaries of the Irish Folk genre, the jumping jigs and reels will get you dancing whilst their enquiring and provocative lyrics will make you think.
The band released their 4th album ‘AWAKEN’ in 2022 and received extensive radio play across the UK as well as 4* reviews for their work. The album was fully funded by a National Lottery Project Grant.
“an adventurous and inspired heady cocktail of Celtic and World music with a social conscience and a beating heart” Mike Davies – folking.com, 2022
“the sound is one of passion, a Celtic infusion and influence” Liverpool sound & Vision, 2022
Support comes from
Lost Post
Drawing on the rich storytelling elements of both old-time American and traditional English music, Lost Post weave their tales into a unique blend of foot-stomping country, swampy blues and delicate folk music. This transatlantic band was formed in a Southampton pub in 2022 by singer and guitarist, Brandon Otto; bassist, Niki Balazs; lap steel, banjo, and harmonica player, A.M. Davis; and joined soon after by percussionist, Alice Stinetorf; and guitarist and vocalist, Lou Sawdy.
Lost Post have been booked to play various festivals and venues, including Boomtown Fair, Rustic Stomp and Wickham Festival. They’ve also had the opportunity to play shows supporting the likes of Nashville’s honky-tonk queen, Emily Nenni, and plenty of other amazing acts including Skinny Lister, 3 Daft Monkeys and Nick Parker. They’ve been building a growing fanbase since releasing their debut single ‘Charlotte’ and their EP ‘Hope (and All Its Promise)’, which also gained support from BBC Introducing. The band has since released another two singles and its first full length album in 2025, titled ‘All We’ll Leave Is Dust’, produced by Lou Sawdy at The Ranch Production House.
Lower Road
Local talent Lower Road came together as a band just over two years ago, after knowing each other for decades via a mutual interest in mountain bikes and beer. Having played in bands as teenagers and in their 20s, the foursome took up their instruments again when one of them bought a house with a handy basement big and remote enough to take a drum kit. Influences range from The Cure, to Pearl Jam, via The Police, REM, Foo Fighters and pretty much anything you can think of between 80s/90s post-punk, Indy pop and stadium rock.
The band play their own compositions, with an emphasis on lyrics exploring love, loss, family ties and at times a certain unease about the future of the world we live in. Super-positive rhythm guitar (with a pinch of added jangle) blends with strong, at times plaintive, vocals, all underlined by solid bass and hard-driving drums.
Lower Road last year laid down their first three tracks (The MD EP, available on Spotify) at Open Access Music Studio in Winchester. While Lower Road have been seen at The Railway’s Monday Roots Night open mic sessions, this is their first gig on the main stage.
Joe Burke
Joe Burke is a Salisbury Music Award-winning acoustic innovator (Best Guitarist & Best Solo Act) and a recognized “wizard” of the guitar. His live performance turns a single instrument into a vast, cinematic soundscape, earning him a reputation as a must-see artist on the UK circuit.
Drawing direct comparisons to the legendary John Martyn, the atmospheric depth of Ben Howard, and the technical percussive mastery of Newton Faulkner, Joe has crafted a transcendental sound that fuses alternative folk, indie, and soulful blues.
His signature style is defined by an intricate alternate percussive picking technique—using a thumb-driven snare rhythm to create a drive that feels closer to a full ensemble than a solo performer. Recently hand-picked to support 90s Britpop legends Dodgy and a featured performer for the Salisbury City Hall reopening, Joe’s musicianship is described by fellow artists as ” inspirational “
From the “Baritone Growl” of his vocals to the hypnotic use of multiple capos and alternate tunings, Joe Burke delivers a high-impact, deeply spiritual performance designed to captivate and absorb a room.
