About this Event
Do you want to know more about the work that we do to tell the story of Wakefield's forgotten women and how we raise money for blue plaques to create a visible and lasting record of their achievements?
Have you been curious about what we do but you're not sure about booking on one of our walks? Then come along and meet the team during the Wakefield Rhubarb festival and find out more about what we do.
We'll be out and about on Saturday, 21 February between 12pm and 3pm. Find us in the precinct, outside the main entrance to Wakefield Cathedral.
We'll be perfoming some of our favourite scenes from the different Wakefield walks and chatting to people about what we do. Come along and speak to us about our upcoming events and find out it they're suitable for you.
A huge 'thank you' if you've attended one of our walks in the past and do come and say 'hello' if you're in town for the Rhubarb Festival.
We'd love to see you - no need to book, just turn up on the day. You'll find us by the main entrance to the Cathedral, in front of one of our newest blue plaques dedicated to Mabel Norton.
We want to share stories from the Heath Common walk, bringing women of Heath to the town centre. Or ask for your favourites - Louisa Fennell, Edith Mackie, Florence Beaumont, Edith Wright, who do you want to hear about?
We have events coming up throughout 2026, starting with a blue plaque launch at Hatfeild Hall, Aberford Road on Tuesday 10 March.
Tickets on sale via Eventbrite now.
Find us on Facebook at 'Round our Way' and see photos and videos from our most recent walks.
Visit the website to read about some amazing women and read about our project Beyond Braille, celebrating Emily Fennell and Edith Wright. We'll hear very soon about the blue plaque funding for this project.

Round our Way is made up entirely of volunteers and all the money that we raise from the walks goes towards funding projects celebrating Wakefield's women.
We look forward to seeing you at the Festival
