Help sustain the City’s natural resources at Rouge River Day at Heritage Park!Every year since 1986, thousands of caring citizens have been part of the hands-on community effort to clean and restore the Rouge River watershed. This year’s volunteers will clean debris in and around the river, remove buckthorn and other invasive species near the waterway, and help with native wildflower plantings and trail maintenance in Heritage Park.
Water & snacks will be available for all participants. Lunch provided by Farmington Hills DPW after the event at noon. Volunteers are encouraged to dress for working outdoors with long pants and long sleeves, as well as sturdy closed-toe shoes or work boots. Equipment will be provided but please bring your own work gloves. The event is free, all ages are welcome.
