Rouge Park Appreciation Day
Join us for Rouge Park Appreciation Day—a celebration of Detroit’s largest park by giving back! This gathering is an opportunity be a part of the vibrant community that makes Rouge Park one of the best urban parks in the Detroit.
Spanning 1,122 of acres of forests, grasslands, prairie, and river corridors, Rouge Park is home to old-growth floodplain forest, sports fields, vernal ponds, miles of trails along the Rouge River and plenty space to pull up and chill. It’s a place where heron’s nest, spring wildflowers blanket the forest floor, and Detroiters can experience deep nature without leaving the big city.
Rouge Park is so abundant.. and gives so much to its users and the local ecosystem, RPAD is about grassroots stewardship, the people of who use the park stepping up, and doing our part… Join hundred of other participants in park beautification, land stewardship, trail clean ups, and invasive species removal. Your participation helps strengthen the future of this landscape.
No matter your age or experience level, there’s a place for you. Come ready to get your hands dirty, learn something new, and celebrate the beauty of our urban green space. Wear comfortable outdoor clothing, sturdy shoes, and bring water. Most importantly, bring your appreciation—for the land, for the river, and for each other.
Rouge Park is more than a park… It’s a refuge, classroom, habitat, and heritage. Join us as we celebrate it together.
