Message from Geoff about the event:
Hello Members,
I am pleased to advise that we have been able to book 5 Caroline Thomson Cabins at Rotto for Friday 10th of July and Saturday 11th of July. In addition we have booked the bus hire for the Saturday 11th.
For those that are new to the club, many of us consider Rotto to be one of the premium competitions the club runs.
The cabins are located close together a short walk from the settlement and while they are designated as 6 berth they have a double bed and 2 double decker bunks which means 5 members per cabin giving opportunities for 25 members to participate.
“Get in early spots will go fast.” Contact Geoff Dawson on 0417937791 or [email protected] to book your spot.
We have a bus hired to pick us up at 8.40am from the bus depot and drop us around the island. It will pick us up at 8.45pm to return us to the depot.
We have a six seat Quakka Hopper booked to carry our gear from the cabins to the bus depot and return.
Note : I can vary the pick up time in the evening to an earlier time if everyone is happy with that.
I will book up to 3 crates for the Friday with Rottnest Express depending on confirmed numbers and departure times (morning ferry of afternoon ferry).
I anticipate the cost of accommodation and bus hire to be about $120 per member depending on numbers.
Friday evening is normally a great social time as there is a big barbeque at the cabins and so we have a big cook up and a few drinks.
Saturday evening is normally quieter as we get back late and then prepare our fish to do the weigh in, the a quick and easy tea and perhaps a few drinks before flopping into bed.
We normally catch the 10 or 10.30am ferry and so it is load the crates for collection and then wander down to the Dome or the bakery for breakfast and the wait for the ferry.
I hope I have wet your appetite for the event and wait to hear from you to book your spot.
Cheers,
Geoff
