The Penfield Players are excited to announce our Winter Readers' Theatre/Dramatic Reading of Rossum's Universal Robots (R.U.R.).
Written in 1920 by Karel Čapek; directed by Kaleab Wiggins, "R.U.R." tells the story of mass-produced and servile "Robot" laborers. "Robots" lack creative thought, and the utopian life they provide for humanity lacks meaning. When the Robots revolt, they must attempt to learn the secret of self-duplication. But their attempts at replication leave them with nothing, until two robots fall in love.

2. Sun, Feb 16, 2:00 PM matinee
Both shows will be held at the Penfield Rec Center/Library building (1985 Baird Rd, Penfield, NY, 14526).
Both performances are free to attend, but donations are gladly accepted.
Concessions will be available for purchase at both shows.
