Oktoberfest, became an annual event in Munich, Germany, originating in 1810, honoring the marriage of the crown prince of Bavaria. Richie Yurkovich & Polkarioty is a professional band with nearly 50 years of experience performing a wide variety of music, including polkas, waltzes, big band, and older rock. Led by Richie Yurkovich—a Polka Hall of Fame inductee, recording engineer, and songwriter—the band has toured extensively across the United States and Europe, recorded over 30 albums, and is known for creating an enjoyable experience for dancers and listeners. The core members include Richie on accordion and vocals, and Gabe Yurkovich on drums and vocals.
