Rites of Spring (a real emo) fest is one-day music festival by CoreChaos held at Munich's DIY-haven Kafe Kult, inspired by the infamous „Real Emo" copypasta-meme.

***PAGENINETYNINE
Started in 1997, Pageninetynine is a band from Sterling, Virginia who redefined what „punk rock“ could mean and be, touring relentlessly and releasing a plethora of albums, splits, singles and more... all from a venerable squad of miscreants on the outskirts of the nation’s capital. With a plethora of releases only rivaled by their staggering eight (sometimes nine) member status, Pg.99 managed to amalgamate almost every heavy-music genre into a tornado of punk rock fury. Not punk in a mohawk-mania sense, but with the unbridled raw spirit of youthful rebellion and passion.
Following a series of reunions in 2011, 2017 and 2019, Pageninetynine has remained active, playing select shows and festivals in 2023, 2024 & 2025.

***BLIND GIRLS
Blind Girls have spent a whole decade making blistering and technical screamo. They have a distinct way of making entire works sound like a single composition, both live and on record, championing the punk tradition of playing with as few breaks as possible, if any. Ben Smith’s extraordinarily intense drumming is akin to bands like Ampere and Converge, the frantic riffage of guitarists Julian Currie, Luke Sweeney, and bassist Mark Grant is simultaneously representative of current hardcore and reminiscent of metalcore of days past, and the throat-lacerating screams of vocalist Sharni Brouwer are in a class shared perhaps only with Jerome’s Dream. The emotion in the heavily incorporated melodies, not to mention the face-ripping breakdowns and thrashing blast beats, of An Exit Exists are the complement to its conceptual theme addressing abuse. Brouwer explains, “An Exit Exists was written during and retrospectively on two separate instances dealing with abuse from those I loved. Each song is a reflection on the emotions and process I went through from realization, feeling trapped, guilt, defeat, acceptance and eventually finding a safe way out.”

***ØJNE
Øjne are an Italian screamo band founded in Milan in 2011. Their first release, an EP titled “Undici/Dodici” quickly allowed them to extensively tour Europe, including appearances at festivals such as Fluff Fest and Miss The Stars. Soon after, the band released two splits with Rainmaker and Улыбайся Ветру, and finally in 2017 their first LP “Prima Che Tutto Bruci” came out, allowing them to quickly gain a cult status within the worldwide screamo scene. After a few line-up changes, an already legendary 10-year anniversary show in Milan and a North American tour with Frail Body, Øjne released in June 2023 their latest EP, “Sogno #3”.

***OAKHANDS
The title of the new Oakhands EP > A Circle with Many Centres < is a reference to a short story by Haruki Murakami. It is also the realization by Oakhands that life and feelings cannot be so logically differentiated and dissected as was assumed and practised on the previous album >
The Shadow Of Your Guard Receding < but that feelings simply have to be experienced, and that all the personal conflicts are more strongly and universally connected than one would like. > A Circle with Many Centres < can thus be thought of as the continuation, answer or refutation of the debut album. The latter dealt with one’s own feelings analytically and lyrically with almost manic precision and was artistically (not scientifically) inspired by Plutchick’s Wheel of Emotions. > A Circle with Many Centres < can also be read as a late coming-of-age record. A post-adolescent record about the „true“ coming of age around 30, late individual Sturm & Drang phases. About the realisation of where the root of all personal conflicts lies: depression.

***JOTA
Jota create a world of emotions set to music on their first EP Cold. They set a twilight of oppressive brute force and quiet fragility in a dynamic sound mesh, which threatens to break every second. Post-Screamo from Halle since 2022.

***LA PETITE MORT/LITTLE DEATH
Emo is currently undergoing a mass polarization. There’s several active, abrasive skramz scenes and, unfortunately, many more goober fratmo clubs. Is it so wrong to want a band that can find harmony in erratic hardcore and pugnacity in flamboyant art rock? Is it so sinful to want conference between beauty and mosh? I don’t think so, and neither does La Petite Mort. Following a thematic explored by past and contemporary legends Orchid and Shizune, DISCO indulges itself with dithyrambic reverie. The band describes the album as „a party you half-accidentally stumble into,“ a sort of drunken microdimension. Think of it as the Other Place in Coraline, but populated by vodka-blooded hardcore hants instead of beldam illusions and tortures. Little Death play with a celebratory verve, near-nauseous rhythms and guitar licks that sound as if they’re about to skip into a busy intersection somewhere in the hi p district of whatever city you live in. So many post-hardcore bands could learn from DISCO. „Heaviness“ doesn’t unilaterally explicate aggression, or vice versa. Gaiety has a fierceness too:
