The situation in Jamaica is still disastrous since Hurricane Melissa razed the island to the ground. St Elizabeth is the most impacted parish where the hurricane had it's point of landfall. The coastal town Black River (the “ground zero”), has turned into complete wasteland with consequences we can’t even imagine.
The locals want to warn us that there is no help from the government in the garrison at Black River what so ever! The poor people are left aside and organisations never reach the ghetto’s. Seems like a lot of the money goes into Montego Bay, Ocho Rios, … the tourist resorts.
We will work without organisation and donate straight to the people and families that need it the most. There is a constant communication with local crew going to the Black River garrison to provide as much help as possible. Power supplies, food and clothing are the main focus.�We want to be as transparant as possible so if there are any questions, remarks or comments, please let us know.
