Roots of the Valley
About this Event
Join artist Dawn Allen for informal Friday afternoon open-studio sessions at DDR Centre for Arts & Innovation’s Rosedale site. Visitors can observe the carving process, ask questions, and learn how salvaged old-growth roots from a Drumheller Valley flood mitigation project are being transformed into permanent outdoor artworks.
This is a relaxed viewing and artist-talk experience, not a hands-on class. Guests will see work in progress on two lion head sculptures and one humpback whale sculpture while learning about reuse, material-led design, and the stories carried by the landscape.
Dress for the weather. This is an outdoor site with a designated safe viewing area.
